June 8th: Come join us for an outdoor discussion on demystifying growing in a forest as opposed to growing like a forest. We'll explore forest gardening, agroforestry, wild harvesting, fruit tree growin', timber production, mushroom cultivation and more! This event will be held at the Goat Haus (an urban farm and home with goats, chickens and one cat) and led by by permaculturalist Julian Dominic, owner of Witch Hazel Designs and Education  (a permaculture design teaching firm).

June 9th: Come on over to the Goat Haus to cook Nixtamal  (pronounced neeks-ta-mal) tortillas! Nixtamal is the age-old practice of making hand ground tortillas with wood ash and heritage-grown corn. We'll explore the old traditions, stories, fables and images from this ancient practice. Then we will be cooking, hand-grinding, and making griddled tortillas from home grown corn*. We'll end the workshop with tasty totrillas and sharing stories of growing corn... we may even have some seed to share! This event will also be led by Julian Dominic.
*Some of our corn will be from our friends over at Three Sisters Nixtamal (our local tortilleria).

August 12th: The OnGoing Community is a loose affiliation of about five households experimenting in neighborhood block-scale cultural resiliency. The main thread weaving us together are dinners twice a week. Our community also raise goats as part of a dairy cooperative, grows food, host events, practice permaculture and generally care for each other in a multiple of ways. We will be hosting a fun neighborhood block party on NE Going Street between 19th and 20th Ave. Join us and come play!
