Friday May 31st:

Pressure wash street (evening)

Saturday June 1st:

8:30- Neighborhood volunteers gather for breakfast/coffee

9:00- Chalk out design on street; set up barricades, tables, canopies and chairs

10:00- Painting begins

1:00-Break for lunch/snacks

2:00- Finish painting

5:00- Celebrate, potluck

Saturday June 1st at 10 AM--everyone is welcome to join (all ages, neighbors, friends and family). Painting will last through the afternoon with breaks as needed.
We will have food, snacks, an evening potluck, and activities. (A marimba performance is in the works). Further details below on left.

We are Virinia and Justin Hovland, and we live at 1580 SE Sherrett Street. We are hoping to --Short term: Install an intersection painting at 16th and Sherrett --Long term: Build a cob bus stop bench and any other ideas gathered from community input --Get to know our neighbors better, and help them get to know each other better --Make the street safer for our vulnerable neighbors (elementary and middle school children, and assisted living center residents) --Have an ongoing project that brings the community together. We are hoping this project will promote: safety, communication, creativity, and shared resources within the community.
