Roots: Calling Us Home, A House Concert

  • 6001-6019 NE Prescott St Portland, OR, 97218 United States (map)

A dinner party & house concert with open hearts, peaceful minds, well-fed bodies, and fiery spirits alive with a passion for community and deepening our roots.

…~*~...Join us for an evening of family, food, rhythm, and song…~*~...

At 6:30pm we begin our journey with connection, dropping in, rooting in place.

At 7pm we will feast on a delicious dinner generously provided by the scrumptious DesiPDX, Indian fare with a local flair, lovingly cooked by Deepak Saxena.

At 8pm, our musical journey begins with the sweet sounds of One Root: Ryan Powell and Kristin Bowen

One Root offers songs of spirit and heart woven by sound alchemists Ryan Powell and Kristin Bowen. They offer songs of remembrance and return to the common source, songs of celtic fae knotwork and honoring of the shadow and light of our lives as human beings. Ryan and Kristin also offer Dreamtime Healing Concerts, which combine sacred sound healing with guided Qigong meditations and messages from spirit, at festivals, yoga studios, ceremonies and events around the Northwest.

Then we’ll be serenaded by the Bardic Beauty of Michael Steen, offering heart songs from Americana, Irish, and Welsh traditions.

Bringing us home will be Sara Tone with New Roots Music for Gaia Culture!!

Sara Tone has been dedicated to bringing a steady stream of music that expresses the Joy and Celebration of Creation. Deeply moved, she finds fuel for the fire of this expression through Vigilance and Awareness of the state of the Earth and our Relationship to Land. Inspired by her travels and tours throughout the West Coast, Cascadia, B.C., Minnesota, and Hawaii, Sara Tone comes with Songs and Stories to help connect the Community through Music to that Sacred relationship!

As we drop deeper into the evening we flow with Water…

Water Eye is a song strength spirit channel invoking sound scapes that range from ambient meditative, experimental acoustic, soul folk to hip hop. She calls for subjects from the audience, freestyle ciphers, invokes spiritual tongues, laughs, cries and vibrates sound with the prayer of popping hearts and minds open in their spirit.

And woven through the night will be poetry from Niema Lightseed, a mythic poet and priestess of the new paradigm who weaves words to invite experiences of deep embodiment and healing -

Yellow Lotus House is a community home in the Cully neighborhood. We value open-hearted connection, tending the roots of our gardens, standing for justice, sharing food and nourishment, clear communication, participation and co-creation.
