Hearing the Houseless: Reweaving Loose Threads through Storytelling & Placemaking

Join The City Repair Project in welcoming our partner, The Village Coalition (VC), for an interactive evening of listening, learning, and being led by community members experiencing houselessness on the streets of Portland. The VC Speakers Bureau will take you on their journeys from housing vulnerability, through their uncertain lives of accumulating the burdens of displacement, and into the realities of living outside and unsheltered in Portland. As experts of their lived experiences, the VC Speakers Bureau will share their observations about the impacts of houselessness upon their connections to place and people, and their implications for community in the future.

This will be a ticketed event with a recommended donation of $20 per person, and includes a vegan/vegetarian meal.

This event is in collaboration with Oregon Humanities as a part of their 2017 Public Program Grant
