This is the 3rd time we will be participating in the VBC as an intersection repair site and we are super stoked to once again be a part of the Village Building Convergence. Our neighborhood has improved it's connections and resilience over these last few years due to this wonderful project and while we are focusing this year on painting once again there are talks about adding more to our site to truly make this a placemaking destination in the Concordia Neighborhood. Future goals include a cob bench and cob oven and other ways to create a piazza type place for the neighborhood to come together. We call this Jarrett Grove because of the beautiful Doug Fir trees that surround this intersection tucked between Alberta Park and The Kennedy School here in NE Portland.
Saturday June 9th is the day! We'll have food, drinks, music, quite possibly some clowns singing songs and doing balloon creations, and as always, a whole lot of community connections going on. You should come! Location: NE 28TH Ave & NE Jarrett St.
