The Village Building Convergence (VBC) is an annual community building event, bringing activists, community members, and organizations together for a summer of grassroots placemaking and sustainable community building throughout Portland, Oregon.

About VBC 2024

This year we celebrated SPARK THE VILLAGE with eight days of placemaking, workshops, presentations, and community building for the annual Village Building Convergence. This free event week happens annually, and your kind donations are also very much appreciated in assisting with planning for summer placemaking activites!

The VBC is open to everyone, families with children are welcome. No experience is necessary, come learn, collaborate, and contribute to building resilient and thriving communities.

We will continue to converge all summer long to complete amazing projects all across Portland, from Food Forests to Natural Building to Intersection Repairs, and so much more!

The Village Building Convergence, organized by the City Repair Project, has been a catalyst for positive change in communities since its inception. By bringing people together and empowering them to take action, the VBC aims to create vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable neighborhoods.

Thanks always,

The City Repair and VBC24 Teams
